What a wild & crazy, hurricane dodging day this was for this New Orleans Destination Wedding Photography! If you are from the New Orleans area you know that hurricane season can rear her ugly head sometimes. But that didn’t stop these two lovers from hunkering down and tying that knot! Mallory and Cedric were to be wed on October 7th of this year, only hours before Hurricane Nate was predicted to make landfall. They were worried that they were going to have to cancel their wedding but here in New Orleans, we know a thing or two about hurricanes so they just moved their wedding up to the afternoon. And what do you know it didn’t even hit!
Mallory and Cedric are both from Phoenix. They both relocated from their homes for work and met each other in 2014 through social networking (magic happens through social networking people). After dating for a few years, Cedric finally decided it was time to ask her to be his forever, but he wasn’t about to do it the boring way. He surprised her with a trip to her dream country, Thailand, and ended up proposing as they zipped through the jungle on a zipline. Good luck beating that! They both loved the idea of having a wedding in New Orleans and set their wedding for just a few months after their engagement.
The two each got ready with their friends and family at separate Air BnBs. They were married in Felicity Church in New Orleans and held their ceremony there as well. The church is beautiful and gave for some gorgeous shots. They did a first look in the church’s sanctuary and it was such a sweet, intimate moment. You could tell their worries had quickly floated away when they looked at each other. Their wedding was definitely New Orleans themed complete with King Cake and everything! They had a jazz band and second lined in the church! Their friends and family had a blast and definitely got a good taste of what this city is all about!
