Rustic Amite Barn Wedding
Meghan and Scott come together after many twists and turns in this gorgeous, Rustic Amite Barn Wedding. It was a true delight to photograph this wedding. The bride and groom were both ecstatic to be exchanging their vows and beginning their life together as a family.
This couple is connected through so many different ties throughout their lives that their relationship could be nothing other than fate. When Meghan was 21 years old, she started attending Harvest Church in Hammond and created the first connection to her future husband, Scott. She met Scott’s extended family going to church there and became close with Scott’s cousin, Milissa. After a few years of attending church with them, Meghan and them all parted ways. Then, one October day in 2014, Milissa contacted Meghan through Facebook trying to set Meghan up with her cute, hard-working cousin. Scott and Meghan went on only two dates before deciding to go their separate ways.
After having both gone through some difficult romantic times, their time together wasn’t quite at that moment. But a thought had been planted in Meghan’s mind, one circling around Scott. Scott kept in contact with Meghan as a friend, making her thoughts ever present. He texted every now and again to check in with her and see how she was. Something urged Scott to reactivate his Facebook account, even though he is against being on social media. He found Meghan on the site through their mutual friends and messaged her. This one message, sent in July 2015, is what began their relationship anew.
They officially became a couple in October of 2015, the very same month they went on their first date the previous year. Another year after their reconnection, Scott asked Meghan to marry him in July 2016. Their wedding was a beautiful marriage, not only between Scott and Meghan, but between their families, as well.
Meghan has done a beautiful job decorating her own wedding. Many of the decoration design elements such as the personalized beer cozies, chalk board decorations, Jack Daniels photo booth, flower decoration, wood accents, and outside seating accouterments were all DIY elements that Meghan created for her wedding. They added a little something extra to the venue and made the wedding even more personal for the couple.
